James G. Mason and other Trustees To The Woodwild Park Association
This Indenture Made this twenty second day of November A.D. Eighteen Hundred and Ninety Seven. Between James G. Mason, John H. Ravens, C. Washington Demmings, Clarence W. Dunham, Frederick E. Barnard, and Alexander C. Litterst, all of Metuchen, New Jersey, Trustees Associated as the Woodwild Park Association, the Grantors, and the Woodwild Park Association of the County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, being an Association incorporated by certificate dated on this 22nd day of November A.D. 1897, the Grantee.
Witnesseth, that the grantors in consideration of one dollar, lawful money of the United States, to them paid by the grantee, the receipt whereof is acknowledged, do by these presents grant, bargain, sell, and convey unto the grantee, its successors and assigns forever, all that tract of land in the Township of Raritan, County of Middlesex, New Jersey, which on the map to be filed in the Office of the Clerk of Middlesex County, entitled "Map of the Woodwild Property of the Metuchen Building and Load Association Oct 1897", is designated as "Woodwild Park", containing three 654/1000 Acres particularly described in a deed thereof by Clarence L. Corbin to the above named grantors dated November 1st 1897.
And this deed is made to the said Association to hold as a Public Park on the terms and subject to the trusts in said deed of Charles L. Corbin contained and under the trusts imposed by the Act under which said Park Association, the grantee herein, was formed, namely, "An Act for the Incorporation of Park Trustees", Approved March 14th 1895. Together with the appurtenances and also all the right, title, and interest, of the grantors of, in, and to the same. To Have and to Hold the same unto the Grantee, its successors and assigns, to its and their own use forever in trust as foresaid.
